WILL KYRIE IRVING WIN MVP IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS?

He made little impact in college due to injury & was a questionable #1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft for the same reason. Since then, Kyrie Irving has since become Rookie of the Year, first time All-Star in this year's All-Star Game & a new beacon of hope for the Cleveland Cavaliers going forward. He dropped 41 points on the New York Knicks earlier this year, becoming the youngest player to score 40 against the Knicks since Michael Jordan in 1985. His game is that of a superstar veteran, but he's only 20 years old.

With all this upside, you have to wonder what his future holds. Will Cleveland bring in the pieces necessary for him to make getting an MVP possible or will he have to go elsewhere? We'll debate that.

Tenz: Kyrie has become my second favorite player, Kobe obviously as my #1 favorite. His game is just SICK. I see a lot A.I in his game. But we all know the regular season MVP is the popularity contest award. As good as he is, LeBron & KD will be winning MVP for the foreseeable future. He'd HAVE to go to a playoff team to even be in the race. But I'm pretty sure Dan Gilbert isn't letting another star walk out the door...at least not without getting pieces to replace him.

Randall: Kyrie is my favorite PG in the league and he has most of the pieces that he needs to become an MVP. The stats, the skill, the highlight plays but one thing that he is missing is a winning team. With the Cavs in the draft lottery every year Kyrie virtually has no chance of winning this award. Like Tenz said, KD and Lebron(and D. Rose depending...) will be winning MVP for the next 5 or so years. But if the Cavs can somehow get another star player, i.e Kevin Love, and Kyrie and continues to improve his game by putting up better numbers and getting to the playoffs... He has a great shot at it.

Maz: My opinion , Kyrie has made the NBA exciting to watch again. Kyrie sure has turned nothing into something in Cleveland. Surprised me .. not gonna lie when he first was drafted i didnt think he'd turn into this for many reasons the NBA isnt college ball and Kyrie didnt finish a full season at Duke. I gotta be completely honest here i think within the next 2-5 years Kyrie will be the best PG in the league if he isnt already and a top 5 player. Dont jump to conclussion and disagree with me yet hear me out , Chris Paul is a great great point but he does suffer a good amount of injuries how long will his knees last and Rondo suffered the acl tear which noone expected and D-Will is just a overrated point in my opinion. Drose also suffered a serious injury and did the smart thing .. he's taking his time to come back but the reason i mentioned Rose was because he was MVP. I do believe in the next 5 Kyrie will be a top player and his name will be up there with Durant and LeBron for MVP but Cleveland sure isnt gonna do anything for him. Its LeBron all over again

  1. my opinion is that it is possible for him to win the MVP in 5 years but I would also like to put in that is if only he does stay with the Cav's cause his contract ends in 2015. and if he decided that he doesnt have a chance to win in cleveland then i see him disappearing like lebron. but as the Cavs are now with the young players that they have around them at this time, he could become the MVP and take that team to finals in 5 years.
